THE LAST DAY OF 2006! im so looking forward to the new year. but my dad is working tmr! who works on the new year anyway. i'll probably waste my time at home again. blehh.
i went to jurong with my mum and dad today to this foodcourt which sells hongkong food. it has such a lot of dim sum there can. and all super nice. im practiaclly stuffed myself with all the siew mai and xiao long baos. so im feeling very full now=)
im blogging from my aunt's hse. dear baby came today! the moment i stepped in i saw him lying in his cot, eyes half-open, and his hands at the sides of his tiny head like he's trying to make sense of smth. haha smth must be troubling him in his dreams. as usual he's gotten bigger everytime i see him. amazing how babies can grow that fast eh.
oh today a hit-and-run accident happened at the road facing my block. only the victim isn't a person, which is good, what the van hit was a lamppost. this green van drove onto the curb and smashed into the lamppost. the whole thing almost got uprooted from the ground and slanted like 45 degrees to the ground. woah. when we heard the sound of glass breaking we immediately went to the window and saw the van driving off. we heard ppl shouting at the driver too. hopefully someone noted the car plate number and find that driver. and of course being nosey s'poreans we went down and looked for 4D numbers. the lamppost was number 71, and today's the 31st.. go buy 7131 okay=)

Kbox.
I've officially finished all my savings as of today. what nice timing yea? im gng to start a whole new year with an empty piggybank. good that the holidays will be over and i'll get my pocket money then. till then, im gonna stay at home and read storybooks and play maple.
i finally got to go to kbox today! with wilson, marcus, yunhao, val and fiona. and for 6 of us we got the super big room which is so comfy. and since when did its service become so good? the ppl there were so polite and explained the charges and stuff patiently. was it 'cause we had the big room? haha. anyway we sang a lot but didn't feel very high. and at 2pm the ppl were very determined to get us out of that room and didn't allow us to song anymore. eeyer. usually we could drag for quite long and still nobody would come to chase us out. no sense of achievement le lar.
after kbox wilson and me met with grace for a while and talked a bit. we had no place to go so we walked ard lot 1 as we chatted. grace ah don't think too much abt it okay. not worth ur attention at all. move on~=) then we went to val's hse for mahjong. her hse looks good after renovation! i like the kind of fresh wood smell, like everything's brand new. i think we played quite long to finish just one game. in the end us girls won=) and i really like the feeling of having siblings in the hse running abt and disturbing everyone. like the atmosphere becomes very lively and u'll never feel lonely at home. haha though i probably can't stand someone bugging me all the time.
i wanted to finish this drama i was watching-dong ji lian ge but i was bored by all the crying. how come they can cry so easily? the girl especially. but i guess thats what we love abt korean dramas bah.

well i quit my job le. not that i've done much anyway. just a bit sad that everything i did on the first day was not recognized...i did work hard know. luckily ned was able to get her money and she treated me to breakfast at vivo. at least i earned myself a treat and lots of experience abt working. im really appreciating how my dad works so hard to support our family. shall try not to ask for money too often. hah!

Merry X'mas! though a bit late. i went to my aunt's friend hse for a x'mas party on sunday. had a very fun night there playing games and watching other ppl do forfeits. haha. and i got a x'mas present too! its so nice to get smth for x'mas 'cause my family doesn't celebrate x'mas and i dun get presents at all. and my parents actually went for steamboat on that night on their own! humphs. they always like to try out new things without me.
there's this dog called poppy there. its a black poodle and looks super cute. but it barks! very high-pitch somemore. whenever nobody's paying attention to it it will bark. woah. i finally began to appreciate bobby's quietness. but yest bobby was whining a lot too. 'cause edison came and he had to be closed in his room so that his fur would not fly ard and get eaten by baby. and bobby doesn't like being alone, so he kept whining and scratching at the door. finally when he was let out he immediately went under the sofa and lay there contentedly.
and there's a little girl called siqi there too. she's only 2 yrs old and she can talk abt a lot of things. she can sing while she plays the piano too!(well of course the notes aren't correct, but its amazing enough when her legs can't even touch the floor) somemore her lyrics are all correct. she can even memorize the san zi jing too! what was i doing at 2 yrs old? my mum said i was just starting to learn how to talk. omg.
i stayed over at my grandma's hse for that night, and the next afternoon i played mahjong for 6 hrs with my aunts and dad. woah. mahjong is really tiring. especially when u're losing. luckily my dad won enough to make up for my lost and still he won 40 dollars for himself. edison came while we were playing and slept quite soundly for some time. when he finally woke up and mum carried him to the mahjong table, he heard the shuffling of the tiles and suddenly, his tiny head wobbled, his face crumpled and he started to cry! haha scared by the loud noise.

baby was super cute yest lar. every week i see him he seems to grow bigger and stronger. i think i can watch him for hours and not get bored. he has lots of funny expressions=) and my aunt calls him elephant 'cause he's so big and animated. i think he's only a few months old and he looks like he's a yr old le. so cool. i love baby.

GOOD MORNING! tried to sleep in but failed. so im yawning away as im typing. blehh.
yest was supposed to be our class gathering at sentosa. but like only 7 ppl turned up- jieqi, val, caslin, wilson, marcus, yunhao and me! i was expecting more, but maybe 'cause it was raining and nobody wanted to come out. so early summore.
so we made our way to sentosa and tried to buy some bread to eat with the ham that wilson bought. but there wasn't any bread in 7-11! quite surprised eh. then we went to the siloso beach which was super empty lar. doesn't feel like a saturday 'cause not many ppl were there. well good for us anyway. we quickly settled down under this huge tent and got ourselves a huge area on the beach to play volleyball. blobbyvolley~ haha. i dunno why but most of the time my ball goes in the wrong direction. anyway we soon got bored and decided to play touch rugby. woah. very exciting and fun game. i was perspiring hard in no time at all.
anf of course we all got hungry very quickly and us girls went to look for bread and drinks. we ended up buying baugettes 'cause there was nth else to go with ham le. and all e drinks were so ex lar. so we sat under this big mushroom-like thing and ate the baugettes that wilson very kindly made for us. and they tasted good too!
after eating we decided to go to palawan beach 'cause we heard that there's this rock climbing thing in the water and it sounded fun. but after we went there we found out that it was just some floating stuff in the water that we can climb. 5 dollars per hr. blehh. and the beach was so filled with ppl lor. i thought siloso was the more well-known beach? anyway we just walked ard the 'southernmost point of asia continent' and decided that we shld go back to siloso 'cause there were more space to play there. so we took the tram back and settled under the mushroom again. i think the rain came soon after so we ate chips while taking shelter. what a cozy atmosphere=) and val was telling ppl to get out of the rain and not get sick. we were so afraid she might get bashed up haha. the rain stopped quite fast and we had another game of touch-rugby. this time the area was bigger and we had to run more. blehh. and something happened between val and caslin. wahaha.
as usual after playing for some time we went into the water to wash up and cool down. and we decided to build a mermaid on the beach while the guys just stood in the water. i wanted to get some seaweed for the hair of the mermaid( not armpits lar! haha) so i went into the water to search. and i was pulled into the water by wilson! got myself all wet and of course i had to pull him in as well. so after getting all wet i still couldn't find any seaweed. fine.
after completing the mermaid we went off 'cause caslin had to go to her church. took the tram again( how many times have we gotten on and off the tram?) and changed into dry clothes before gng out. and wilson had to let me wear his pants since he got me wet. haha.
we wanted to go to kbox 'cause it was still quite early for steamboat. so we went to marina square but found out that it was 16 per person and we could only sing for 2 hrs at most. of course it was not worthwhile and we decided to go to bugis straight for steamboat. sean and zongping joined us for dinner too. it was a bit quiet as we ate 'cause no one was talking. haha guess everyone all hungry after the long day. the chili sause for the chicken rice was so spicy, the chili padi too. and i thought i can handle spicy stuff. next time must put less chili.
after eating we talked a bit. the guys were talking abt football and stuff that we dunno. so we talked abt studying abroad and their culture. haha. on the way back we laughed ourselves silly looking at the msges between sean and wilson. and we gossiped abt stuff in our class. so shalene's info isn't entirely accurate ahh.
when will be the next time we meet? the fastest will be when we get our results bah. ahh.. will miss everyone de.

Curse of the Golden Flower!
wahaha i finally got to watch CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER! went to cck with wilson, yunhao, zhihao and marcus yest. it turned out to be quite a busy day in the end.
the show started at 3.15, so we had our lunch first before gng in. the first scene jay appeared i heard someone giggling behind. well jay did look a bit weird at first, but she shldn't laugh at him mah. so bad can. anyway i was so captivated by the complicated relationships that they had when the movie stopped abruptly. the backup lights went on and we were told that there was a blackout. i was quite surprised 'cause nth like this has happened before. so we sat ard a bit while small kids came running in and out with a torchlight. who brings torchlights to shopping centres anyway? haha. later we heard that the whole area was affected. so we went out and WOAH. major confusion at the ticketing counter. plus it was super dark. and zhihao tried to scare me by tapping my shoulder. twice somemore. then when i asked nobody touched me! super creepy! and we were like just talking abt marcus's encounter with ghosts. as usual my short-term memory caused me to forget it pretty fast. finally zhihao owned up sometime later and i was glad that at least it was a person who touched me. haha.
anyway we decided to watch the next show at 5.20 when the lights came back on. so we had some drinks at ya kun and chatted a bit. they were sharing their experiences abt catching a cockroach. who in the right mind will catch a cockroach when they can just slap it with newspaper or smth. and they were so happily describing how smelly it was. blehh.
time passed quite fast and we went up for the show. but the movie showing was actually near the end le! nonetheless we settled down and watched the ending of the movie. the battle scene was so cool, and jay looked super shuai. it was so moving at the end too, when he said that he was doing this all for his mother and ended his life himself when he failed. ahh...i like the scenes between gong li and jay.
after the movie ended we checked with the counter and were told that the movie was gng to show again. so we went back in and finally got to watch the movie from start to end. woah. that means we sort of watched the movie twice! worth the money haha. but it's a chim movie and i wanna watch it again when the dvd comes out. the two main were so good and jay really did improve a lot. must watch ah!
in the end the movie ended at 8pm. and we actually started watching at 3.15! haha. what a long movie. =)

Work.
woah, it's been raining heavily these days yea? im quite enjoying the cool weather that the rain brings.
anyway i went to my job training yest. we had to be at clarke quay at 9.30am so ned and i were squeezing with the working ppl on the mrt. luckily we were gng to outram first so we weren't stuck in the mrt for too long. later when we reached the office we saw the girl that we met earlier during the work interview. so we made a new friend very quickly and we just chatted before we were rushed into the office where this alfred guy talked to us abt the company and what we're gng to do. so its an advertising company which helps organizations with low budget to do advertising, by way of mass communication. in short, just door-to-door promotion. then we were rushed into another room where alfred talked abt DETERMINATION+DESIRE and all of us went out to the respective areas we were given. i was to follow this tim guy and learn the skills of mass communication. i thought i was gng to just watch as he does his job, but it turned out to be me doing much talking especially for chinese families. i found out that my chinese was indeed better than my english.
the area that we were given were all rental flats, and most of the time there were only old people who said that they themselves need help, and cannot help us. i was quite surprised that so many ppl were jobless and had some kind of health problems. until we met this teacher who sort of gave us a lecture on how ppl in this area are old and financially in need, and she very kindly gave us 10 dollars. ohh did i mention that we were raising funds for a VWO and the minimum contribution is 10 dollars? i guess thats why we are rejected so much. but i found out an interesting fact. the ppl in the rental flats actually contributed more than those ppl who actually have a house themselves. is it that the poor can understand the plight of those financially in need, so they are willing to give? or is it just the stuck-up attitude that those well-off ppl that makes them so arrogant that they can just slam the door in ur face? i was just wondering.
commission is earned when u sell a whole book of 20 cards and u get 40 dollars per book. 100 dollars for 2 books. its not easy. 8 hours of going door-to-door and maybe getting only 5 cards sold per block. i didn't finish a book, was left with 3 more. ned could finish one book and she got 40 dollars le! so cool. we'll be going back next wed again. ahh its a tiring job.
